UN PRI benchmark makes integration of sustainability in the investment process transparent
Amstelveen, 18 July 2019 – Real estate investor Altera has achieved the highest possible scores in the annual benchmark of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI). This is evidenced by the results published yesterday by UN PRI.
The benchmark measures the integration of sustainability in the total investment process of institutional investors. Altera scored an A + on ‘Strategy & Governance’ and an A on ‘Property’. The lowest score given in the benchmark is an E. The results confirm the leading position that Altera occupies internationally in the area of sustainable and responsible investment.
Jaap van der Bijl, CEO Altera:
Sustainable and responsible investment is an explicit focus in our strategy and the results of this benchmark confirm that we are among the international leaders in this area. This benchmark is a transparent way for us to show our stakeholders how we anchor and apply sustainability in our policy. And of course it is also especially relevant for our own organization because it provides tools for next steps.
UN PRI is an international benchmark, initiated by the United Nations, in which 2,186 investors with a total invested capital of around EUR 80 trillion participate worldwide. In addition to real estate, the benchmark includes other investment categories. The modules ‘Strategy & Governance’ and ‘Property’ apply to Altera Vastgoed. The benchmark makes it possible to compare the activities in the field of sustainable and responsible investment.
