Altera Vastgoed teams up with Aalberts to boost sustainability of Nieuw Vennep housing complex

Altera Vastgoed has selected Aalberts Bouw to collaborate on a new project to boost the sustainability of 46 family homes in Welgelegen-Noord, Nieuw-Vennep. Upgrading the sustainability of homes built in 1987 is in line with Altera’s ambition of achieving a Paris-proof portfolio by 2040 at the latest.

Altera CIO Erwin Wessels outlines the aims for the project: ‘Teaming up with Aalberts to upgrade the sustainability of 46 family homes is a seamless match with our investment and sustainability strategy. Our integrated ESG approach means that we are committed to ongoing improvement. A sustainable portfolio not only serves the interests of our tenants and the shareholders on whose behalf we invest, but also really delivers on our wider social responsibility to create healthy and liveable environments.’

Aalberts project manager, Aalbert Timmer, adds: ‘We’re delighted to be making an active contribution to the sustainability plan. The assignment not only reflects Altera’s Paris-proof ambitions, but also our own mission: building to make things better.’

Renovation work

The work includes replacing the existing glass with triple glazing and installing insulated doors. The homes will also be fitted with a heat recovery system. Regular maintenance work will also be carried out at the same time as the sustainability upgrade.
