Altera's Residential and Retail Funds are GRESB Global Sector Leaders 2023

Real estate investor Altera Vastgoed (hereinafter: Altera) has been awarded Global Sector Leader status by sustainability benchmark GRESB for both its Residential and Retail Fund.

This achievement means that Altera’s residential fund is Global Sector Leader for the fourth year running. Meanwhile the retail fund has stepped up to gain Global Sector Leader status for the first time this year. For the second year running, Altera’s retail fund is the Netherlands’ most sustainable retail fund in its category and, as of this year, it also takes the top spot in Europe.

Altera’s CEO, Jaap van der Bijl: “We are delighted that both funds have achieved the status of Global Sector Leader. This recognition is confirmation that our efforts and those of our stakeholders are proving effective. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to facilitating sustainable new-build properties, improving the sustainability of our existing portfolio and creating value for all our stakeholders: our investors, our tenants and society as a whole.”

The GRESB scores

The GRESB benchmark is an independent and leading metric. GRESB assesses the ESG factors of property and infrastructure worldwide. The recently published GRESB benchmark is based on data received from over 2,084 property investors worldwide (representing a total of €7.2 trillion AUM).

Altera has been participating in the GRESB benchmark since 2012. Both the residential and the retail fund scored 95 out of a possible 100 points this year.
