Cadenza housing project in Amersfoort taken into operation by Altera

Real estate investor Altera has added 114 apartments in the Cadenza housing project in Amersfoort to its residential portfolio. This addition pushes the investor’s portfolio to upwards of 4,900 residential units and its invested capital to more than €1.6 billion. Over the next few years the portfolio is set to grow further to 6,500 residential units as homes currently under construction at locations including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Leiden are completed in phases.

Cadenza is a characteristic building on Valleikanaal in the green Hogekwartier district. This urban district is popular as the peaceful surrounding countryside and lively city centre are both within easy reach. The total plan comprises two residential blocks with a total of 184 apartments and a car park with 184 parking spaces. The deck between the residential towers features a roof garden that is connected to the green zone on Valleikanaal.

Cadenza has a heat and cold storage system, a CERA 2 WTW ventilation system, solar panels and an iwell Cube battery. Charging stations for cars will also be installed. These green facilities are helping Altera advance towards its sustainability goals.

Erwin Wessels, Altera CIO: “Our goal is to expand our sustainable portfolio of affordable housing  in strong rental markets where housing, shopping and recreation reinforce one other in a sustainable manner. Cadenza is a sustainable development at a central location in the heart of the Netherlands. As such, it’s an excellent addition to our portfolio.”

Over the past few months, Altera has worked with project developer Lithos Projectontwikkeling in line with the Covid-19 guidelines. The handover of the keys to all new residents will take place in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
