Kop van Laak multi-family project in The Hague completed

Altera Vastgoed NV (hereinafter: Altera) has received the keys to the Kop van Laak project on Waldorpstraat in The Hague from Pike Vastgoed/Ouwehand Bouw and is ready to welcome its new residents.

In total, the Kop van Laak project offers 77 mid-rent apartments, 17 parking spaces, 240 m² of commercial space on the ground floor, 19 additional storage units, a shared bike shed and a communal space. The four commercial spaces on the ground floor are not part of Altera’s acquisition.

The 77 apartments are spread across 11 residential floors and are situated on the 2nd to 12th floors, with seven apartments per layer. Each of the homes, which have been designed as two- and three-bedroom apartments, has its own southeast-facing outdoor space. These affordable mid-rent starter homes were fully leased upon completion of the project.

The project meets all relevant sustainability requirements and is completely gas-free. The building has a collective air-to-water heat pump system and the roofs have been fitted with solar panels to cover collective energy consumption. In addition, each apartment has a heat exchanger.

Altera’s CIO, Erwin Wessels: “Our strategy is aimed at expanding our young and sustainable residential portfolio of private sector rental homes in strong housing markets where living, shopping and recreation reinforce one other in a sustainable manner. Thanks to its great location, sustainable design and affordability, Kop van Laak offers ideal starter homes. This makes the project an good fit with our strategy and portfolio.”

MVGM Vastgoed Management will manage the property on behalf of Altera.
