Residents of 't Zand in Utrecht are handed their keys

Altera Vastgoed NV (hereafter: Altera) has taken delivery of the first building (Waterval) in the ’t Zand project in Utrecht from VABO Ontwikkeling B.V. The building’s brand-new tenants were presented with their keys last week.

The completed phase consists of 47 apartments and a collective bicycle storage facility. Twenty of the 47 apartments form part of the City of Utrecht’s action plan for the mid-range rental sector (average rent: €1,025).

In line with Altera’s real estate investment strategy, all of the apartments are gas free. Several of the apartments and all public areas are also connected to solar panels and outperform the government’s EPC requirement for energy efficiency. The residents will also have access to additional resources and facilities, including an electric car sharing deal offered by We Drive Solar.

Erwin Wessels, CIO of Altera, highlights the importance of this milestone: “The completion of the first building in the ’t Zand project is another important step towards meeting the huge demand for affordable housing in major cities such as Utrecht. This project, which also contributes to our ESG goals, makes a great addition to our young and sustainable residential portfolio.”

Location

The apartment complex is part of Het Zand, an area in the heart of the Leidsche Rijn district. It is located opposite Utrecht Terwijde station and within walking distance of Terwijde shopping centre. The centre of Utrecht is just five minutes away by train, while the neighbourhood itself offers lots of greenery and a wide variety of amenities. Situated in fast-developing Leidsche Rijn, Het Zand is set to become a multifunctional urban residential area with great facilities, from shopping and recreation to education and small businesses.

For more information on living and renting accommodation in the area, visit the website of the ’t Zand project.

REBO Vastgoed Management will manage the property on behalf of Altera.

A warm welcome for tenants at the handover
