Sustainable ranking from GRESB for residential and retail fund

For the second year running, real estate investor Altera Vastgoed (hereinafter: Altera)’s retail fund is the most sustainable retail fund in its category in the Netherlands. This year for the first time, the fund is also the European frontrunner in terms of sustainability. The Altera residential fund improved on last year’s very good score, resulting in a second place in its category in both the Netherlands and Europe. Both Altera funds were awarded a five-star rating for the fifth consecutive year.

Altera’s CEO, Jaap van der Bijl: “GRESB gives us the opportunity to measure and compare our strategy and results achieved. The results achieved confirm that Altera is making a sizeable contribution, which of course makes us very proud. Our strategy is geared towards achieving returns in two ways: financially and with respect to ESG. We are committed to developing sustainable buildings and making existing real estate more sustainable, while at the same time creating value for all our stakeholders: our investors, our tenants and society as a whole.”

Rudy Verstappen, ESG Manager: “Once again, the results show that we are contributing significantly to making real estate more sustainable. Together with our tenants and business partners, we have a structural focus on reducing energy consumption, water consumption and waste production. We do this by integrating sustainability into all of our business processes. We are also focusing on optimising the required ESG data streams to improve our continuous monitoring of progress in this area.”
