De Vroon in The Hague welcomes its first tenants

Last week, real estate investor Altera Vastgoed (hereinafter: Altera) took delivery of the homes in the residential project De Vroon in The Hague from property development and construction firm Van Wijnen. And the first residents of the complex have received their keys. De Vroon comprises 36 apartments, 33 parking spaces and around 235 m² in communal areas, forming a unique living concept. De Vroon is situated on the edge of the new Vroondaal neighbourhood in the south-west of The Hague.

Fit and Vitality concept

De Vroon features an innovative living concept with healthcare and services close by, so that residents can remain fit and vital as they get older. The Fit and Vitality concept is an initiative of Centrum Groepswonen, Bergunlimited, Stadkwadraat and Vanschagen Architecten. They developed the Fit and Vitality concept and entered into a partnership with Van Wijnen and Altera for the development and construction.

The De Vroon apartments vary  in size from 63 to 123 m² and overlook the communal patio garden that covers the parking level. The building is gas-free and has an Energy Performance Coefficient (EPC) of ≤ 0.0, meeting the highest demands of sustainability. To achieve that, the complex is fitted with solar panels and the apartments are heated by ground source heat pumps.

Erwin Wessels, CIO of Altera: “We are delighted to welcome the first tenants to this wonderful location. In combination with the sustainability aspects and the Fit and Vitality concept of the project, the apartments fit in well with our residential portfolio, in line with the housing demands of today and tomorrow, allowing senior citizens to continue living independently for longer.”
