Altera welcomes Dirk van den Broek to Gouweplein in Waddinxveen

Real estate investor Altera Vastgoed (hereinafter: Altera) has reached an agreement with Dirk van den Broek about the establishment of a supermarket with a surface area of about 1,900 m². The supermarket is expected to open its doors to the public this spring.

Altera expects the arrival of Dirk van den Broek to boost visitor numbers, which means other businesses will also take advantage of the constant stream of passers-by an extra supermarket will create. With this step, Altera is futureproofing the shopping centre in Waddinxveen, where population keeps increasing owing to a lot of new construction.

Marcel Huizing, CEO of Dirk: “It’s unexplored territory, because Waddinxveen doesn’t have a Dirk yet. But that’s about to change. Recently the Dutch Consumers’ Association again named Dirk the cheapest supermarket, with an average price gap of 8% for basic groceries between itself and its competitors. I’m pleased that soon we’ll be giving the inhabitants of Waddinxveen the opportunity to do their shopping at the cheapest supermarket in the Netherlands.”

A short while ago, Altera also contracted TUI, which will receive the key to a branch with a surface area of about 81 m² at Gouweplein mid January.
